Wilsons popularity surpassed the US in 2014 when she landed a role on Showtimes The Affair. In the show, Wilson played Alison Lockhart who is a young, troubled girl with a dark past. Lockhart is a lover of an unmarried Noah Solloway. Wilson was awarded an award in the form of a Golden Globe in 2015 for Best Actress, Television Series Drama. The show also starred Maura Terney and Joshua Jackson. Wilson stated to British Vogue, "I loved being able to play an actor who could be each side of the story."
